LeadershipThe Shepherds of In His Presence Apostolic Ministry
B I O G R A P H Y: Chief Apostle Douglas Wilson
A Father of Many Nations…A Mighty Contender of the Faith …in God’s sight. As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations. He believed in God, who gives life to the dead and calls things into existence that do not exist… Romans 4:17 (HCSB)
Now, there is a profound, prolific, and prophetic 21st Century Voice of one crying out in the body of Christ, likened to the Father of Faith, Abraham, where God declares “2 will prepare a contract between us, guaranteeing to make you into a mighty nation. 3 In fact you shall be the father of not only one nation, but a multitude of nations!" Abram fell on his face downward in the dust as God talked with him. Genesis 17:2-3 (TLB) And so, as it was prophesized, Apostle Douglas would be” Father to Many Sons & Daughters, whose Relentless Faith has Defied All Odds.” With this decree comes the fresh celestial winds of God blowing profusely throughout the kingdom of God, this declaration accurately describes the anointed ministry giftings of Apostle Douglas Lee Wilson.
Birthed into the earth realm on November 24, 1951, within the perimeters of Prince George County, he was reared in the fear and admonition of the Lord at Harrison Grove Baptist Church, Prince George, Virginia. While a teenager, God called young Douglas to the ministry, but Harrison Grove did not receive his calling at that time. Bishop Douglas Lee Wilson’s official ministerial journey began in 1989, when he was licensed as a minister of the Gospel by Bishop Richard H. Cross. He later felt the unction of the Lord to establish and organize Dove Worship Center, Petersburg, Virginia in July 1991 with his charming wife, Pastor Maxine E. Wilson and children. In 1994, Bishop Wilson co-organized New Life Worship Center, Petersburg, Virginia with the unification of three city churches: Dove Worship Center, Faith Christian Center & Mount Zion Christian Center in collaboration with their respective pastors. He served as the Bishop and Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Life Worship Center. Bishop Wilson also served in the office of Presiding Prelate of New Life Full Gospel Non-Denominational, Inc.
Bishop Douglas has faithfully executed the commands of the Father for 25 years of pastoring and 65 years of life. For more than a quarter of a century, Bishop Douglas has received the “law and order” of the Lord through His Word. He received God’s government in his life by accepting God’s authority as the First and Final authority which allowed God’s Kingdom to come and God’s will be done in his life. As evidence of the Word bearing fruit in Bishop’s life, he has labored to establish six (6) churches, raised up three Pastors, many Elders, Prophets, Ministers, Teachers, & Evangelists. To his account his fruit remains to bear even more fruit. God has promoted him from Minister to Elder to Pastor to Senior Pastor to Bishop and now to Apostle. In the Apostolic Succession, he has risen from Bishop (overseer of a Pastor and laity) to Presiding Prelate (an ecclesiastical official who governs a fellowship, an Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction (diocese) to Apostle (one sent forth to establish churches).
B I O G R A P H Y: Apostle Lady Maxine E. Wilson
“Chosen to Shift Spiritual Climates, Realms & Atmospheres” Maxine… came in with a jar of very expensive aromatic oils, anointed and massaged Jesus' feet, and then wiped them with her hair. The fragrance of the oils filled the house. John 12:3 (Personalized MSG)
There is an outpouring of a fragrance of worship and prayer - an aroma of His Presence that’s emanating from this Vessel of Honor, Pastor Lady Maxine E. Wilson & In His Presence Ministry transcends denominational lines. Just as Mary poured out her expensive oils on Jesus and shifted His atmosphere, likewise Pastor Lady Maxine E. Wilson allows the fragrant oils of God, laced with prayers & worship to flow and exude from her inner most being to fill the house of the Lord with the sweet aroma of His Presence therefore shifting spiritual climate zones, realms & atmospheres to allow divine access for the miraculous to manifest in the earth realm.
Lady Maxine invaded the earth realm on July 27, 1955. She later gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of 10, where she served the Lord in her youth at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Hopewell, Virginia under the leadership of Rev. Judge Brown. While at Mt. Carmel, she served in many capacities: member of the choir, dedicated member of the Gospel Stars, & the Flames of Glory under the late Ms. Brenda Bonner, pianist. In 1981, she joined Saint Luke Apostolic Church of God Live On, Hopewell, Virginia (now Word of Life Center) under Bishop Richard H. Cross. While at Word of Life, she was in charge of the Tract Ministry, she served as Praise & Worship Leader, was a member of the Missionary, Evangelism and Hospitality Ministry. In July 1991 and May 1994, Lady Maxine co-organized Dove Worship Center and New Life Worship Center, Petersburg, Virginia with her husband, Pastor Douglas L. Wilson. At Dove she served as the Praise & Worship Leader and the founder of Women Uniting Women’s Ministry and Evangelism Ministry. On March 21, 1993 Lady Maxine was licensed and ordained as an Evangelist. While the Lord’s hand remained upon her, on August 7, 1994 she was licensed and ordained an Elder. Later in July 1999, she was installed as Pastor of New Life Worship Center.
Lady Maxine has been very instrumental in instituting the New Life Worship Music Ministry, hosting Heart to Heart Teas, directed the Singles Ministry & Intercessory Prayer Ministry. Under Bishop Doug’s anointed tutelage, she has contributed to the growth of her pastorate by activating renewed evangelistic vigor to reach and touch the lives of over 4,000 plus homes in the Walnut Hill and Kenilworth areas. She has traveled extensively across this country and abroad to Guyana, South America as a team member of the John Cummings Crusade Team. Under the divine leading of the Holy Ghost, in April 2007, Apostle Douglas passed the senior pastor’s mantle on to his wife, Pastor Maxine E. Wilson. During her tenure as Senior Pastor, she has established & implemented several ministry extensions: Leadership Training, I’mPACT Ministry School (Individuals Maturing, Pursuing, & Accepting the Call Together), Prayers That Heal the Heart, Showers for the Homeless, IHPM Nursing Home Ministry, Community Outreach Evangelism, The Father’s Touch Network – Pastor 2 Pastor Connection with Pastor Alicia Evans, Greater Works Ministry as her first fruit-first pastor.
Handpicked by God from amongst a family of great ministry gifts, the Holy Spirit reveals a precious gift found in the body of Christ, an anointed woman of God in the personage of Pastor Lady Maxine E. Wilson as a wife to Apostle Douglas Wilson, a mother, a prolific preacher, a praise and worship exhorter, a soaking prayer facilitator, an apostle, a prophet, an evangelist, a pastor, mentor, a spiritual mother and a teacher. She operates under an awesome apostolic anointing, which distinctively ushers in the presence of the Holy Spirit and invites people to embellish God’s presence. Pastor Maxine’s passion for genuine praise and worship provokes a stirring of God’s praises and draws every listener’s spirit into intimate worship with the Father. Her mandate is clear, Luke 4:18 “…to preach deliverance to the captive, recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Her ministry expands beyond the pastorate of In His Presence Ministry, Petersburg, Virginia to encompass women developing covenant relationships and friendships as experienced through Hadassah’s Women Ministry (HWM) and Women Uniting Women (WUW) Heart-to-Heart Teas. These ministries assist in reconciling women to God, therefore enhancing each woman’s intimate relationship with her Heavenly Father. Women are taught through the Word of God, that their relationships with others are only reflections of their relationship with God. While Hadassah’s is an “in house” ministry of In His Presence Ministry, WUW is an outward extension of IHPM women’s ministry. These ministries collaborate to edify the body, spirit & soul of the WHOLE Woman.
Lady Maxine as well has been called by God to promote soaking prayer awareness to the neighborhoods & the nations and to teach the concepts of soaking prayer, which encourages a deeper intimacy with the Father. “Soaking Prayer” has become a vital component of Lady Maxine’s ministry. Philemon 1:20 admonishes us to …“refresh our hearts in the Lord.” Soaking sessions are “times of refreshing” in the presence of the Lord. During these cherished times, the hearts and minds of God’s people are turned towards Him in meditation upon His Word and peaceful submission into His presence. The cares and concerns of God’s people are laid at His feet, as His people direct or focus their attention to Him. This heavenly environment caters to a worshipful atmosphere saturated with the oils of incense, with sounds of flowing streams of water, set to an ambience of candlelight and music that sounds like the voice of God speaking directly to you! “Soaking prayer positions your worship to grant total access into the presence of God!”
With the privilege to attend and graduate from “Catch the Fire” Soaking Prayer School, Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, Toronto, Canada, she is certified and skilled as a Soaking Prayer Center Facilitator. She is the founder of The Father’s Touch Soaking Prayer Center (TFTSPC), Petersburg, Virginia, where soaking is held and taught every 4th Saturday. Lady Maxine has served as an Eastern USA, Regional team member of Catch the Fire Ministries, Toronto, Canada, which keeps her in high demand to teach and facilitate Soaking Prayer Sessions in homes, in churches, in retreat centers, in halls of higher learning near and abroad. She trains facilitators and establishes soaking centers whose purpose and goal is to "give the Father's love away". Pastor Lady Maxine's ministry team assists her in the Father's Touch Soaking Prayer Ministry. Since 2006, Pastor Lady Maxine has birthed 8 soaking centers including one in Columbia, South Carolina, one in Baltimore, Maryland, two in Petersburg, Virginia, two in Richmond, Virginia, and one in Fort Worth, Texas. She has introduced many churches to soaking prayer who now include soaking as part of their prayer time and life. Permit Lady Maxine to “Provoke You to Soak & Draw Out Your Destiny!”
